A few of my friends and I toasted in the New Year with a couple of glasses of Champagne and drank to 2007: the year of the fiance.
Yes, we are all 30 something females and single and we have decided that the loud banging of our biological clocks are beating just that little bit too loud these days and if I have to attend another fucking wedding alone, I will actually scream. And who ever said you will pull at a wedding - rubbish. Everyone is in a couple and the only single male is the mad half brother of the groom who may as well live in a cave for all the social skills he seems to portray. Maybe I'm being harsh but enduring social events with 'smug marrieds' is becoming dull dull dull. And now they seem to be sprogging all over the place and sending you Christmas cards of their babies!!! I'm sure your child is very cute but I don't want it staring at me from my mantlepiece reminding me of the fact that I am unmarried and very un-pregnant. Bastards.
So.... I have decided to try this online blogging business for others to share in the highs and lows of the year of the fiance.
